    1. Age Requirement: The child must be 3 years old by August 31st of the entry year. Children born between September 1st and December 31st may start in January of the current school year, depending on availability. The priority criteria below will be followed.
      2. Potty Training Requirement: The child must be fully potty trained before entering preschool.
Upon receipt of the complete enrollment application, children are placed on the waiting list based on the following priority criteria:

      Preschool

      2. Priority for students from French-speaking families and students from AEFE or other French schools
      3. Priority for Children of LFI staff and French diplomatic personnel

Due to the high number of applications, we recommend submitting applications as early as possible, before the scheduled date for the child’s start of schooling.

For applications with equal priority, the submission date will be considered as a ranking criteria. Non-priority applications will also be ranked by submission date.

All admission decisions are made by the Principal.

      Primary School Admission Criteria

After submitting a complete application, children are placed on a waiting list based on the following priority criteria:

      1. Priority for siblings of current students
      2. Priority for students from French-speaking families and AEFE/French school backgrounds
      3. Priority for children of LFI staff and French diplomatic personnel

Given the number of applications submitted to the institution each year, it is advisable to complete an application as early as possible before the scheduled date for the child’s start of schooling. To distinguish between priority applications, the date of application indicated on your initial request will be taken into account. Similarly, non-priority applications are ranked based on the date of application.

The Lycée Français d’Irlande draws families’ attention to the fact that the age requirement set by Irish regulations for entry into secondary school affects primary school enrollments.

At LFI, the dual French-Irish curriculum, known as EUROCAMPUS, begins in 5ème. It covers the 5ème, 4ème, and 3ème classes. Students must be at least 12 years old by January 1st of the academic year in which they enter 5ème.

Parents of children who are a year ahead (due to early advancement to a higher class) should take this into account, as there is a risk of refusal for enrollment in 5ème or subsequent classes. They must contact the admissions office to schedule a meeting with LFI management when submitting the application.

All admission decisions are made by the Principal.

      Secondary School Overview

The Secondary School (collège & lycée) of LFI Samuel Beckett is located at the Eurocampus in Clonskeagh, a shared campus with St. Kilian’s German School. The Eurocampus bilingual integration program includes 5ème, 4ème, and 3ème, merging French and Irish curricula to enhance English proficiency.

      For Middle School

In the Irish system, in 6ème, students remain on the Clonskeagh campus and begin preparation for Eurocampus integration. This is an important preparation for the integration of students into the Eurocampus program, which begins in 5ème. It is also aimed at reinforcing all the foundational knowledge acquired in primary school.

In 6ème, students have two subjects taught in English (music and arts), while history classes are conducted in French for four periods per week, with the fifth period taught in English. English groups are held in smaller class sizes for four out of the five periods.

      Eurocampus Admission Notice:
Warning ! The Lycée Français International Samuel Beckett draws families’ attention to the age requirement set by Irish regulations for entry into secondary school. In Ireland, secondary education begins in 1st Year (equivalent to 5èmein the French system).

At LFI, the dual French-Irish curriculum, known as EUROCAMPUS, starts in 5ème and continues through 4ème and 3ème. Students must be at least 12 years old by January 1st of the academic year in which they enter 5ème.

Parents of children who are a year ahead (due to early advancement to a higher class) should take this into account, as there is a risk of refusal for enrollment in 5ème or subsequent classes.

The LFI administration remains available to families for any further information regarding this matter.

For students in 5ème, 4ème, and 3ème enrolled in this program, half of the courses are taught in English and the other half in French. Students are integrated into the three existing Irish classes (A, B, and C) and remain in these groups for the remaining three years of middle school. The curricula have been merged to ensure that all subjects are fully covered.

Students have the opportunity to take both the Diplôme National du Brevet and the Irish Junior Certificate.

      For High School

In high school, students prepare for the French Baccalauréat with options to specialize in:
      ● History-Geography-Politics & Geopolitics
      ● Mathematics
      ● Physics-Chemistry
      ● Economics & Social Sciences
      ● Biology & Earth Sciences

Starting from Seconde, two additional periods of history in English are included to facilitate the preparation for a French Baccalauréat with a European distinction.

The Lycée Français International Samuel Beckett also offers the option to enroll in the American section of the BFI (Baccalauréat Français International) bilingual American track.

Students may also choose to prepare for and take the Leaving Certificate (Irish Baccalaureate) by enrolling at St. Kilian’s to follow the Irish curriculum. Currently, it is not possible for students to prepare for both exams simultaneously.

However, the French Baccalauréat is officially recognized by Irish universities such as Trinity College, UCD, DCU, and TUD, and the International Section is an asset for students who wish to pursue university studies in an English-speaking country.

Students have the opportunity to apply to Irish universities by registering through the CAO (Central Applications Office) system.

      Scholarships (Bourses)

Scholarships may be granted to children of French or bi-national families whose parents reside in Ireland and who do not have sufficient financial resources to fully or partially cover the tuition fees at Lycée Français International Samuel Beckett (LFI). Information regarding scholarships is provided annually by the French Embassy through the school.

If at least one parent holds French nationality and your child is registered with the consulate, you can apply for a scholarship each year.

The scholarship committee in Dublin takes place in spring for the following academic year. If your situation has changed or if you were unable to apply on time due to recently moving to Ireland, a second committee is held in October. In both cases, the school will always inform you of the committee dates and provide the necessary documents for completion.

Please note that AEFE scholarships (managed by the French Embassy in Dublin) are available only to French and/or bi-national families residing in Ireland.

Additionally, there is a MEN scholarship (mobility/merit-based scholarship) offered by the French Ministry of National Education. This scholarship is available to students enrolled in France who wish to spend a year abroad with a host family (London/Dublin scholarship).

Applications for this scholarship must be submitted directly to the MEN and not through LFI.
