After-School Activities

Primary School - After-School Activities

The after-school program at Foxrock runs from the end of the school day until 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
Students can participate in a variety of enriching activities organized by the school, as well as other popular programs hosted by external providers within the school premises.

i) School-Organized Activities

● Crafts & Origami
● Football
● Music Appreciation
● Religion
Reservations for these activities can be made online in advance, one term at a time. If your child is already enrolled, click here to log in to Eduka and make a reservation.

ii) Activities Organized by External Providers:

These activities are provided by external providers. For more information regarding schedules, registration, and payment, please contact the providers directly. We recommend that you first book your external activities so that you know what type of childcare you need.

The time spent in activities is not charged for childcare but is paid separately.

All external providers are subject to a number of checks, including police and tax checks, and activities are listed provisionally until they have been approved.

Secondary School - After-School Activities

LFI offers a range of extracurricular sports activities for secondary students. These vary each year; for instance, in 2021/2022, the following sports were available such as, Volleyball, Badminton and Football.

After-School Care

The after-school care service is available daily until 6:00 PM. Reservations can be made per term or for the entire year. Availability is limited, and registration follows a first-come, first-served basis.

Childcare can also be booked on an occasional basis, subject to availability.
In the case of a term booking, the cost of after-school care is €5 per hour. In the case of an “à la carte” booking made at least 3 days in advance, the cost of after-school care is €10 per hour. In the case of an “à la carte” booking made less than 3 days in advance, the cost of after-school care is €15 per hour.

This allows us to manage staffing levels appropriately and ensure the well-being of all the children in our care.
The terms and conditions of after-school care are available here: After-school T&Cs.

Children are supervised at school, outdoors if the weather permits.

Children in after-school care are divided into two groups: preschool and elementary classes.

Children in the junior classes play in the large courtyard. If they are indoors, they can draw, socialize, play board games, or engage in other enriching activities offered to them.

Children in the preschool after-school care play in the small courtyard with all the available toys. When indoors, they can play with small toys, draw, color, or participate in imaginative games.

Preschool children take a break in the middle of the afternoon for a snack and a moment of calm. Please remember to provide a snack for your child if they are staying for a few hours in after-school care.

On Wednesday afternoons, Petite Section children take a nap.

If your child is already enrolled in the school, click here to log in to Eduka and make a reservation.

Health

Here we try to deal with some of the questions which arise around health issues.  Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any particular concerns.

  • Taking medicine: The school is not competent to administer medicine to children, whether it be painkillers, creams or other remedies.  If your child has to take prescription medicines during school time, we need to have the prescription and your written authorisation to administer them.
  • When your child should stay at home: Out of respect for your child’s welfare and for the rest of the school community, you should keep your child at home if he or she is not feeling well.  This is particularly important in the case of contagious diseases, such as conjunctivitis or gastroenteritis.  Your child should be kept at home until he or she is no longer contagious. Children have the right to be sick and, when they are, they have the right to proper rest which the school cannot give them.
  • When your child gets sick in school: The only treatment which the teachers can give, if it is possible, is to separate the child from the others so that he or she can rest. We contact the family who must come and collect the sick child (hence the importance of the telephone number on the pupil information forms).
  • Programme of vaccinations: school health screenings are conducted by public health nurses and area medical officers who are employed by the Health Service Executive (HSE). These screenings are carried out on the school premises and the school is told of the date of the screenings in advance so that parents can be notified and are entitled to be present if they wish. Children’s hearing and vision are examined and, where requested by the parent or deemed necessary, a physical examination may be carried out.

With the parents’ consent, the 4 in 1 (diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough (pertussis) and polio), plus MMR (measles, mumps and rubella), HPV, Tdap and MenACWY are administered at school.  Again, the school will be told of the date in advance so that parents’ consent can be sought and parents can be present if they wish.

Parents Association (APE)

The APE is the recognised Parents’ Association of the Lycée Français International – Samuel Beckett (from kindergarten to the end of secondary school).
